The President’s Message
February, 2012
One month of winter is behind us. One month closer to spring and Summer Porsche fun.
I hope many of you took advantage of the Brentlingers’ hospitality, and attended their Rolex 24 at Daytona party. What a great way to start the Porsche year!
February is usually the lousiest month of the year to me. I’m already going into Porsche withdrawal. Usually we tow our 912E behind the motor home, but this year we left the 912 home so it could bond with the 911 and the Corvette. The Saturn just is not the same!!!
This month we have some fun things to warm everyone up and get you thinking of driving, and Amore’.
But first let me say that David Weaver has been working his rear off to make our www.cirpca.org website better and better. Please take the time to look at the site and see all the information that is at your finger tips. The full info for all the club functions is listed there.
On Saturday the 4th, we have the First Saturday Breakfast at A2Z on 96th street. Then after a great breakfast we are having the first “Welcome to Performance Drivers Ed” of 2012 at Tom Wood Porsche. This free seminar is designed to inform you of what a performance drivers ed is all about. If you have ever wondered what this track driving stuff is all about, but were afraid to ask, this is for you. Sign up and check it out. It will be very informative.
Now on Wednesday the 8th at Tom Wood Porsche, we get to see the all new 911 for 2012! This is a catered event that is going to be a blast! This is not to be missed!
Then if you haven’t had enough of the new 911, (and who could) O’Daniel Porsche in Fort Wayne is having their full catered model launch on Saturday the 11th. WOW, two in one week!
Now to show we are not just about cars, we are having a fantastic “Valentine’s Day Dinner and Dance” on Tuesday the 14th. This great evening is being held in Fort Wayne at the Orchard Ridge Country Club. Then to warm us up more on Saturday the 18th, Don Shuck is hosting his “Chili Bowl”, Fantastic!
Again, please go to the website to get all the particulars on these events.
Finally, let me say that if there is any type of function that you would like to see us do, send me an email at robfike@comcast.net.
Have a great February, Rob
